At Kokums House Recovery, our work goes beyond providing support—it’s about building community, celebrating culture, and creating spaces where healing and growth are possible for everyone. From sponsoring young athletes through the Kokum’s Little Sasquatches at the Alberta Indigenous Games, to participating in events like the Walk 4 Wellbriety, to advocating for resources at City Council, our team is committed to leading by example. These moments capture our mission in action: fostering recovery, connection, and empowerment through culturally grounded programs and community engagement.

In 2024, Zane Thain participated in the first annual Walk 4 Wellbriety, a community-led event grounded in Indigenous values of healing, connection, and sobriety. The walk represents more than just physical movement—it’s a spiritual journey that honors those we've lost, celebrates those in recovery, and brings awareness to the ongoing need for culturally grounded healing.
As the manager of Kokums House, Zane continues to lead by example. His involvement in the Walk reflects his commitment to recovery, cultural wellness, and helping others walk their own path with dignity, purpose, and support.

At Kokums House Recovery, we believe recovery starts with community. Through advocacy, partnership, and hands-on support, we work to create safe spaces where people can rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. Featured here, Zane Thain speaks before City Council about our mission to expand access to culturally grounded, compassionate recovery support for those who need it most.
